Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic medicine is not a new medicine. The main tenets of this medicine focus on healing the patient by supporting the human body’s own natural healing abilities and finding out the cause of the patient’s disease, while not focusing on treating symptoms.
Naturopathic physicians are trained in the art and science of natural healthcare at accredited medical colleges. These programs include the standard medical education combined with courses in botanical medicine, nutrition, psychology, homeopathy, hydrotherapy, and physical medicine.Currently, 25 jurisdictions, 22 States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands have licensing or registration laws for naturopathic doctors (NDs/NMDs).
Many insurance carriers now cover naturopathic medicine.
